Three Woes - From the Scriptures
Three Woes must happen before the Second Coming. The first Woe is after the 5th Angel in Rev 8 with a vial. So, we can gauge when they will start. After the opening of the 7th seal, after the first four angels pour their vials (famine, comet (1/3 sea dies), Wormwood (water turns bitter), and the Sun/moon/stars darken) then the last 3 vials are woes. Note: These could run concurrent with one another or be linear. Also, the footnotes for the first 4 vials reflect spiritual plagues symbolic of the physical description.
Revelation 8:13
13 And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!
Woe #1 - Two Wars (5 mo. & 13 mo.)
Revelation 9
2 And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.
3 And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.
4 And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.
5 And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man.
6 And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.
7 And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men.
8 And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions.
9 And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle.
10 And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months. (Woe#1)
1 And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.
12 One woe is past; and, behold, there come two woes more hereafter.
14 Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates.
15 And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men. (Woe #2)
16 And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them.
Woe #2 - Armageddon
Revelation 11:11-14
11 And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.
12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.
13 And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.
14 The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly.
Revelation 16:16-18
16 And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.
17 And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.
18 And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.
D&C 45:47-50
47 Then shall the arm of the Lord fall upon the nations.
48 And then shall the Lord set his foot upon this mount, and it shall cleave in twain, and the earth shall tremble, and reel to and fro, and the heavens also shall shake.
49 And the Lord shall utter his voice, and all the ends of the earth shall hear it; and the nations of the earth shall mourn, and they that have laughed shall see their folly.
50 And calamity shall cover the mocker, and the scorner shall be consumed; and they that have watched for iniquity shall be hewn down and cast into the fire.
Woe #3 - The Savior Destroys the Remaining Wicked
Revelation 11:14
13 And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.
14 The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly.
Revelation 19:11-21
11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;
18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.
19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.
20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

Woe #1 - Two Wars (5 mo. & 13 mo.)
- Found in Revelation Chapter 9 - series of two wars - one is 5 mo. and one is 13 mo.
- Starts after the 5th angel pours out his vial.
- The bottomless pit is opened, out comes locust (war machinery)
- They are to torment man like a scorpion for 5 months, only torment those who have not the seal of God on their foreheads.
- There is a second war that is 13 months long and eventually runs into Armageddon, this war comes after the 6th angel's trumpet.
- This 13 mo. war is in the Middle East (Euphrates River) and the armies gathered are 200,000,000 men.
- This war is to slay the third part of men.
- My guess: The 5 month war is the invasion of the U.S. and the 13 month war is WWIII which leads up to Armageddon because Woe #2 is Armageddon. I used to promote Woe #1 as the civil war because a visionary said the civil war was 5 mo. long, however, the description in Rev. 8 describes military machinery (not used in civil war) AND the king (president/leader) over that war is Abbadon (destroyer, Satan, not US president). Also, Woe #1 is AFTER the 1/2 hour of silence ends and after the 5th angel; the civil war is much closer than that given the description of visionaries who show this earlier. Also, D&C 88:95 says that immediately after the 1/2 hr. silence we see God's face (in New Jerusalem). The civil war is not after New Jerusalem is built.

16 And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them.
Woe #2 - Armageddon
- Found in Revelation Chapters 11 & 16 and D&C 45
- Two prophets sent to Jerusalem to hold off the world's army (Armageddon) for 1,260 days (3.5 years)
- The two prophets are killed, after 3 days resurrected and Savior comes to rescue the Jews
- There is a worldwide earthquake when the Savior steps on the Mt. of Olives
- The Savior brings with him the 144k from New Jerusalem and destroys the world's army.
